LMS Route: Rugby to Tamworth

LMS 8F 2-8-0 No 8161 is seen effortlessly working whilst at the head of a long up train of parcel stock near Newbold Troughs in August 1939. Built at Crewe works in February 1943 No 8161 remained in service until September 1967 when it was withdrawn from the Cheshire Lines Committee's Heaton shed on the Mersey to be scrapped in March 1968 by J Cashmore of Great Bridge.
