The station building would have contained segregated passenger accommodation for ladies with at least a Ladies Waiting room with toilet accessed directly. In many stations built in the 19th century a separate First Class waiting room was also provided. The gentlemen's toilet was inevitably located outside in covered but basic accommodation as seen above. In this instance the toilets are in the flat roofed structure to the immediate right of the white gate.
