LNWR 4-6-0 No 23, an Claughton class locomotive, is seen on an up Liverpool express service approaching Shilton station circa 1919-23. Built at Crewe works in August 1920 No 23 was built at Crewe works in August 1920 and was later renumbered in April 1926 by the LMS as No 6001 which it carried until it was withdrawn in October 1934 to be scrapped in November 1934 at Crewe works.
