In the middle of the image and to the right of the wooden hut is a small 0-4-0 contractors locomotive that was used to build the line. The track seen above is permanent way track, a description adopted by railways to describe the operational trackwork. This was used to differentiate from temporary track that contractors would install during the construction of the line. At the very bottom of the line on the right can be seen the yard managers house.
