View of Great Barr station's up starting signal and the Perry Barr North Junction distance signal on 5th August 1951. The bracket signals have lower quadrant signal arms, meaning that they point down when they are in the 'off' or all clear position. The signal on the left controls the line to Aston whilst the signal on the right controls the line to Wandsworth Wood and Soho.
