Later renumbered by the LMS as No 8486 the locomotive ran in service until June 1935 when it was withdrawn for scrapping at Crewe. This class of 302 locomotives were allocated a 2F power rating but being fitted with vacuum pipes could operate passenger services too. The absence of steam pipes to provide carriage heating would however be a problem on colder days - such as this day being that there are no leaves on the trees in the above view.
