Close up of image 'lnwrgh58' showing the new steps leading down from Frederick Street to Gravelly Hill station's booking office. The photograph shows that the timber handrails and posts have been erected with the posts in the vertical alignment and the rails sloping at the same angle as the steps. For some unknown reason it appears that the railway authorities didn't think this was sufficient and have added spear topped iron railings. However these have not been erected as one would expect - with the railings all vertically aligned - but as a panel fixed on askew following the angle of the steps.
