Looking towards Hagley Road as a goods train made up of primarily Private Owner wagons is marshalled in the yard circa 1934. The locomotive is an unidentified ex-LNWR 0-6-2T locomotive, a class which together with 0-6-0s, 2-4-2Ts, and Fowler 2-6-2Ts was commonly seen on the branch during the early 1930s. Prior to the First World War when traffic was at its highest, the LNWR did not consider using steam railmotors on the branch because of the intensity of the service and numbers of passengers to be carried. The starter signal appears to remain unchanged from the view seen in image 'lnwrh68b' although the signal box is a later structure being a standard LNWR design and less elevated. The goods shed above the goods train can be seen to have a roof which cantilevered either side of the structure to provide some cover in inclement weather to staff loading the wagons and vans.
