Ex-LNWR 2P 'Precursor Tank' No 6826 is standing at platform two at the head of a goods train with a cattle wagon immediately behind the bunker circa 1936. Platform two was also extended by the addition of a length of platform built with timber framing and planking. Unlike platform one where this was located at the Rugby end of the platform the down platform's extension was built at the Coventry end. In both instances the layout of the track dictated where the extension could be built. Built at Crewe in March 1907 No 6826 only lasted in service for a couple of years after this photograph was taken being withdrawn and scrapped at Crewe in December 1938.
