Monument Lane Station: lnwrml2230
Ex-LNWR 2-4-2T No 46757 stands at the down platform waiting to
take forward the SLS special to Harborne on 3rd June 1950. The station's
booking office was located on the first floor of the building which looked out
directly on to Monument Lane. To the right and just visible above the
overbridge, Monument Lane's very tall signal cabin can be seen. The very tall
structure was erected to ensure that the signalmen could see clearly without
obstruction in both directions.
