Monument Lane Shed: lnwrmlsh2242

Ex-LMS 0-4-0 Sentinel No 47184 is seen standing in Monument Lane's Promenade sidings circa 1950. Its almost certain that the Sentinel was one of several locomotives being loaned to the brewery located adjacent to Rotten Park Road station. Whilst it would be based at the brewery all week it would be returned to the to the shed on Saturday afternoon for servicing and for any preventive maintenance that was due. Built as LMS No 7184 by the Sentinel Wagon Company in November 1928 No 47184 was to remain in service until December 1955 when it was withdrawn from 5B Crewe South shed.
