LMS Route: Nuneaton to Leamington

Ex-LNWR 4-6-0 2P Experiment class No 5491 'Prince George' stands alongside ex-LNWR 4-6-0 4P Prince of Wales class No 5620 'John Ruskin' outside of Nuneaton shed on 24th October 1933. Built by George Whale as LNWR No 1135 at Crewe works in September 1907 and given its LMS number in March 1927, No 5491 remained in service until June 1934 when it was withdrawn from service to be scrapped at Crewe works. Bowen-Cooke 4P 4-6-0 was built as LNWR No 2198 at Crewe works in November 1913 receiving its LMS number in April 1927 and as LMS No 5620 remained in service until March 1936 when it was withdrawn to be scrapped at Crewe works.
