LMS Route: Nuneaton to Leamington

British Railways Standard Class 9F No 92156 is seen at the head of a mineral train leaving the up marshalling yard circa 1962. This photograph was taken from platform 5 which was well placed for the railway photographer to capture the busy freight that once was an everyday occurrence at Nuneaton station. Built at Crewe shed in November 1957 No 92156 remained in service until July 1967 when it was withdrawn from Dallam shed in Warrington to be scrapped in March 1968 by either Draper Ltd of Hull or TJ Thompson of Stockton-on-Tees.
