LMS Route: Nuneaton to Leamington

LMS 4-6-0 Stanier Pacific No 6202, unofficially known as 'Turbomotive', is seen at the head of an up express passing Nuneaton No 1 Signal Box. This side shows the shorter turbine for reversing the locomotive, albeit the later and larger version, as the original was deemed not powerful enough for running as a light engine in reverse. The locomotive was never required to run tender first in service and therefore did not require a turbine the same size as the forward unit which ran the full length of the foot plate. C1948
