Ex-LMS 'Black 5' 4-6-0 No 45096 of Agecroft (9J) shed near Manchester speeds towards the south and lays a smokescreen over the tracks at Nuneaton (Trent Valley) station on Thursday 26th March 1964. Built as LMS No 5096 by the Vulcan Foundry in April 1935, No 45096 was to remain in service until August 1968, the last month of BR main line steam services, when it was withdrawn from 10F Rose Grove shed to be scrapped.
