The passenger facilities originally sited on both platforms have been demolished but as of yet new buildings have yet to be erected. British Railways has in the meantime erected two windowless corrugated structures, one on each platform, to act as waiting rooms. A half century later and the facilities are little better with the up platform having a three-sided concrete structure for its waiting room whilst the down platform's concrete structure had been replaced by a glorified bus shelter.
