LNWR 'Class B' 0-8-0 No 1436 is seen topping up its tender as it prepares to exit the shed for its next working

LNWR 'Class B' 0-8-0 No 1436 is seen topping up its tender as it prepares to exit the shed for its next working. Built at Crewe works in August 1904, No 1436 was one of Webb's four-cylinder compounds. It was converted to Bowen-Cooke's 'G1' Class specification in October 1923 and then upgraded to a G2a specification in February 1939. Having been renumbered by the LMS as No 8951 in September 1927, No 1436 remained in service until June 1952 when it was withdrawn as British Railways No 48951.
