Ex-LMS 4-6-2 Coronation Scot class No 46244 'King George VI' on a down express passes under the GC bridge and on to the outside avoiding line. Built at at Crewe works in July 1940 it remained in service until withdrawn in September 1964 from Carlisle (Kingmoor) shed having survived being derailed at Grendon July 1947 and was scrapped in December 1964 by Arnott & Young - West of Scotland Shipbreaking Company of Troon.
