Ex-LMS 4-6-2 Coronation class 4-6-0 No 46253 'City of Albans' at the head of the Mid-Day Scot as it passes through the station

The Mid-Day Scot from Euston to Glasgow passing through Rugby Station hauled by ex-LMS 4-6-2 Stanier Pacific No 46253 'City of St Albans' in 1962. Built by Crewe works in September 1946 No 46253 remained in service until January 1963 when it was withdrawn from 5A Crewe (North) shed. The factory chimney in the background on the right is thought to be the Rugby Steam Laundry.
