Warwick (Milverton) Station: lnwrwar_stn1403

Looking towards Leamington showing the timber platform section of Milverton station which was located between Rugby Road and Warwick New Road. The steel girders seen in the foreground supports the railway and platform crossing Rugby Road whilst the girder, seen adjacent to the signal on the right and at the end of the platform, supports the line crossing over Warwick New Road. The section of track between Rugby Road and Warwick New Road was built on an embankment and consequently the weight of the platform and buildings needed to be kept to a minimum. This was achieved by using timber both in the supports and decking.
