LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham
Alcester Station: mra133b
Close up of image 'mra133' showing the principle station
facilities for passengers including waiting rooms, booking hall and booking
offices. At the far end of the building was a store and a gentlemen's urinals
which were, as always, only accessed from the outside. The booking offices and
booking hall were accommodated in rooms on the right, immediately next to the
station master's house (see image 'mra1286a' for
plans of the station). The station was staffed with two station masters; a MR
station master and a GWR station master, a practice thought to have dated from
the opening of the Alcester Railway in 1876.
