View of the junction with the Great Western Railway's branch line to Bearley with the GWR water tower and locomotive shed to its right in 1949. The junction opened in September 1876 and brought about a number of alterations to the station's layout., carried out at the expense of the Alcester Railway. The work involved extending the crossing loop to the site of the new junction (see above), a new trailing connection from the up line to the goods yard loop siding, and a new trailing siding off the up line at the Evesham end of the station. The signal box erected to protect the junction was sited on the left opposite the junction, This signal box was closed when the LMS erected a new signal box in the 1930s.
