External view showing the station approach and station building with the station master's house situated on the left on 19th April 1959. The station building was substantial with the passenger and offices facilities being much larger compared to other intermediate stations on the line as it was a joint GWR-MR station. The station therefore had two station masters, one a GWR employee whilst the other was a MR member of staff.
