LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham

View looking towards Evesham from the down platform in the 1950s with the MR lower quadrant signal on the left and the short siding on the right. The Midland Railway pattern lower quadrant starting signal, complete with spiked finial, stands on the site of the original 1870s signal box which was demolished in 1906. The wooden staging used by signalmen to stand on when exchanging the single line token has been removed when the second signal box was removed. Adjacent to the signal is an electrically lit lamppost sited to provide lighting to passengers and staff using the barrow crossing.
