Looking south towards the junction between the original single line route to Lifford and the double tracks of the BWSR

A wintry view looking south towards Bournville signal box, taken on Monday 12th January 1959. The box stands at the junctions with the main line of the Lifford branch, by then demoted to a through siding, and the engine shed branch. Compare with 'mrb676' and 'mrb666', photos of the signal box and its surroundings taken by the same photographer from different angles in the summers of 1956 and 1961 respectively. The branch line, the signal box, the semaphore signals and the engine shed are all now long gone.
