LMS Route: Birmingham West Suburban Railway

Bournville Shed: mrb1571

Ex-LMS 3P 2-6-2T No 40168, with the initial corporate British Railways lettering on the tank sides, is seen at the shed on 24th April 1949. Built by Derby works in December 1937, No 40168 remained in service until October 1961 when it was withdrawn from 16B Kirkby-in-Ashfield shed to be scrapped by A Loom of Spondon sometime in 1963, having been stored on shed during the intervening period.
