LMS Route: Nuneaton to Birmingham New Street

Bromford Bridge Station: mrbb1683

Ex-LMS 8F 2-8-0 No 48117 approaches Bromford Bridge Racecourse station on a down Type 7 Express freight service. On the right behind the young trainspotter is a Permanent Way hut used by the PW gang to store equipment and for their mess facilities. Beyond in the distance is the hut that can be seen on the horse dock. Built as LMS No 8117 in April 1939 by Crewe works, No 48117 was to remain in service until March 1968 when it was withdrawn from 9F Heaton Mersey shed to be scrapped.
