LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham
Broom Junction Station: mrbj537b
Close up of 'image mrbj537' Broom Junction's two goods sidings
located on the East side of the station with a coal merchant's horse drawn cart
on the right. The hand operated point lever in the foreground had a weight
attached to the end to aid its operation, its weight helping to close the
points on the downward stroke. The five plank open wagon loaded with coal was a
common type to be found all over the British Isles' railway network.
