LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham
Harvington Station: mrhv573
An early Edwardian view of the station which shows both the
booking office and passenger facilities on the right and the substantial
private dwelling. Rural stations were often provided with large residences as
frequently other members of staff would be accommodated in addition to the
station master's family. The station nameboard can just be seen above the white
fence adjacent to the gateway. The ivy growing up the wall was a common feature
on many railways in the late 19th and early 20th centuries but had often been
removed by the time of the Second World War.
