View of Kingsbury Station Junction Signal Box seen on 9th August 1969 with the junction in the distance. This low angle shows that the route of the original B&DJR down line adjacent to the signal box does line up with the down line to Whitacre which lies beyond the junction. The large radius curve was installed to help trains take the line to Water Orton at speed. However as the yellow 30 speed limit sign at the base of the signal gantry shows, the line to Whitacre had to be taken at a much slower pace. The Whitacre line soon became known as the slow line whilst the lines for Water Orton were described as the fast lines.
