LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham

Kings Norton Locomotives: mrkn1998

Ex-LMS 8F 2-8-0 No 48449 is passing through Kings Norton Station towing a brake van en-route to pick up a goods train. The locomotive is carrying a Class J headlamp code which would indicate its on a mineral or an empty or wagon train. Built by Swindon works in August 1944, No 48449 was to remain in service until May 1967 when it was withdrawn from 5B Crewe South shed to be scrapped by J Cashmore's of Great Bridge.
