LMS 2-6-0 2MT No 6400 is seen on 17th May 1947 heading a local passenger service made up of mixed coaching stock with a GWR Syphon immediately behind tender. Designed by Ivatt, No 6400 was built in December 1946 by Crewe works and remained in service until May 1967 when it was withdrawn from 10A Carnforth shed to be scrapped in September 1967 by J McWilliam & Sons of Shettleston.
