Lawley Street Goods Depot: mrls302
Looking towards Lawley Street's main goods shed and grain
store with the main yard in the foreground and Landor Street to the right circa
1907. This photograph shows the huge variety of traffic that once went by rail.
The yard was divided in to sections for different types of goods both inwards
and outwards. The two sidings on the left are primarily handling unsawn timber
as is evident by the GWR bogie flat wagons. On the right are goods ready to be
loaded onto the empty wagons with the nearest load being 'I' shaped steel
beams.
