LMS Route: Birmingham New Street to Nuneaton

Ex-MR 1F 0-6-0 No 2780 stands adjacent to the coal line after being serviced for the following day's work. An outside curved-framed Kirtley Class 700 locomotive, No 2780 stands in the coal line with ex-MR 0-6-0 2F Class 1357 No 3122 which is bearing a 1D shed plate. Locomotive No 2780 was built in 1871 by Neilson & Company and remained in service until November 1932 when it was withdrawn to be scrapped by Derby Works. Locomotive No 3122 was built in February 1884 by Beyer Peacock and remained in service until September 1928 when it was withdrawn to be scrapped by Derby Works.
