Saltley Station: mrsalt965

Looking from Saltley Junction signal box towards Washwood Heath sidings with the station located the other side of Saltley Viaduct on 20th June 1954. The station's island platforms were accessed from Saltley Viaduct its entrance being in the middle of the bridge as can be seen above. On the goods up line, opposite the station on the left, an ex-MR tender can be seen at the rear of a train which would seem to indicate that another locomotive has been attached to the rear of the train to save finding a slot for the locomotive to work back light engine.
