LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham
Studley & Astwood Bank Station: mrstud371
Looking towards Alcester whilst the station's staff pose for the
camera at Studley station circa 1900s. The station building is a much more
elaborate affair compared with Coughton being comparable to that seen at
Harvington, Salford Priors and others south of Evesham. The coach on the right
behind the station nameboard is standing on hardstanding and is in fact a
grounded body being used to provide space for stores and in marked as such on
the undated LMS 40 foot to 1 inch rating plan which appears in Bob Essery's
book on the line. Entrance to the station was via the gate which stood in front
of the grounded body and which passed the coach to the driveway to the
station.
