LMS: Birmingham New Street to Tamworth

Ex-LMS 4-6-0 5MT No 44828 is seen entering the spur to Hall End & Birch Coppice Colliery from the Kingsbury Branch. Built as LMS No 4828 at Crewe works in July 1944, No 44828 was renumbered by British Railways in September 1948 and retained its number until September 1967 when it was withdrawn from service to be scrapped by Cashmores of Great Bridge.
