GWR Route: Stratford Upon Avon to Honeybourne

BR Signalling Notice No 4208 This BR Signalling Notice was issued to identify the changes that would take place on the ex GWR main line south of Stratford on 24th-25th April 1960. The work involved the cutting-in of a double track junction south of Stratford Racecourse Station, which gave access to a new curve to the site of Stratford Old Town Station. At the same time the single line from Stratford to Broom would be taken out of use and the connection to the E&WJR exchange sidings simplified. Three existing Signal Boxes would be closed and control of the three junctions would in future be by Ground Frames and a newly constructed Signal Box (with 50 levers) to be opened at Evesham Road Crossing.
