View of Acocks Green's station building housing the booking office and sited at road level with two horse-drawn vehicles outside of the building. The horse-drawn vehicle on the left is most likely a GWR operated parcels wagon as on the side can be seen the legend 'Express Parcels'. Railway stations up to the 1970s once provided a parcels service to any other station in the country and for many years up to the Second World War and beyond, the railway companies operated their own distribution service. The vehicle on the right is a privately owned 'buggy' furnished in quilted leather. Behind the parcels vehicle can be seen the steel girders of the bridge that span the two new up and down main running lines. C1910
