The Stratford-upon-Avon Railway was originally laid as a mixed gauge railway when opened in 1860, so this was constructed to be wide enough for Broad Gauge wagons. The shed’s internal platform was probably modified when the station was reconstructed as a junction in 1876. The Station lighting was all by oil lamps until these were replaced by electric lights in the mid 1930s.
