GWR Route: North Warwickshire Line
Bordesley Shed: gwrbg-shed1963
Schematic showing Bordesley shed's original three road broad
gauge carriage shed and the two road narrow gauge extension. During the broad
gauge (7 foot 0¼ inches) period, the 4 foot 8½ inch standard
gauge employed elsewhere, was described by the GWR and associated companies for
political reasons as being narrow gauge. Sketched by RS Potts in 1997 for the
Broad Gauge Society's Magazine, the above elevation was part of a drawing (the
other part being 'gwrbg-shed1960') notes that
the original drawing was prepared in the Engineers Office at Paddington and
were signed ER for CS, traced at Fluyder Street.
