Plan of Bordesley Station prior to the First World War showing the original station layout complete with goods shed

View of Duddeston Viaduct showing the main structure was still substantially intact some 130 years later. John Fancote writes in response to the original caption to this photograph which had stated that the girders were never erected, 'In the caption to this photograph you say that the girders for the missing spans were never installed. Whilst I have found no proof that they were, there may be evidence to the contrary. The Six Inch OS Map for 1888 shows the viaduct complete (see 'gwrbg2700'), where as the 1903 edition (see image 'gwrbg2699') shows the gaps after the iron or steel bridges have been removed. Also looking on Google Streetview there is evidence of bedstones built into the abutments in Liverpool Street and Great Barr Street'.
