The platform canopy fascia is more ornate that Tyseley or Acocks Green stations despite it being built during the first year of the 'Great War'. As with most GWR stations, the gentlemen's toilet facilities were located at the end of the platform building and hidden by modesty screens. The ladies on the other hand were located inside the ladies waiting room. A deference to the 'weaker' sex not given to day in the 21st century.
