An unidentified Brush Type 4 (Class 47) is seen entering the exchange branch with a freight working heading towards Tyseley. The tracks on the left are on the 'Washwood Heath' to 'Camp Hill' route to 'Kings Norton' avoiding 'New Street station', used mostly by freight but also Summer Saturday passenger trains not booked to call at Birmingham. The wartime built brick signal box can be seen in the distance.
