Birmingham Snow Hill Station: gwrbsh1139

View of Snow Hill station's yard and parcels offices seen fronting Snow Hill with Colmore Row up the gradient on the left in 1905. The station seen above was the second to be built, in 1871, and was replaced by the third station building of which commenced in 1906 and was complete in 1912. The tram lines in the road had a cable in the centre of the track which was used to haul the trams up Snow Hill, a technique used in San Francisco to this day.
