Birmingham Snow Hill Station: gwrbsh1152

An elevated rear view of the former hotel and the station concourse together with the flat roof and roof lights of the booking offices in August 1968. Snow Hill is in the foreground whilst Colmore Row can just be seen to the left. The curved roof of the concourse helps the viewer to understand the layout of Snow Hill station. Each rear corner of the concourse led to one of the two island platforms via a long walkway covered by a glazed hip roof which eventually led to the steps to the platforms. In between, at the top of the steps was an over bridge to allow passengers to cross from one set of platforms to another.
