A set of six DMU cars is seen standing at Platform 6 and a diesel shunter is standing at Platform 7 on the last day of 'Inter City' services on 5th March 1967. The gloom of the tunnel at the far end of the station is broken by the lighting installed to help railway workers that needed to enter its confines. To the right, the girders of the bridge carrying the lines over Great Charles Street can be seen whilst the trailing crossover seen in image 'gwrbsh1183' has subsequently been removed.
