Looking from the steps of the overbridge towards Wolverhampton along Platform 5 whilst a train is seen standing at the platform circa 1927. On the left is one of Snow Hill station's ornate poster boards with a wooden scroll top and frame which would be advertising excursions throughout the GWR network. The inter-war years saw a rise in the number of excursions to the seaside and local places of interest in North Warwickshire, the Severn Valley and the Wyre Forest areas. Trips to London theatre land was also possible with a ticket costing 3/6d (17½p) leaving on a train departing after 4pm and returning on a train which left Paddington at midnight.
