Ex-SR 4-6-2 West Country Class No 34094 is seen standing on the down through road whilst ex-LMS 2-8-0 8F No 48417 stands on Platform 7 on 27th April 1963. The Stanier 8F is double heading an unknown locomotive whilst standing on the up through road is an unidentified ex-GWR 2-6-2T large Prairie ready to take a freight through the tunnel. The reason for the presence of the Bullied Pacific locomotive was the postponed semi-final of the FA Cup between Manchester United and Southampton FC which 65,000 fans attended to see United won 1-0 going on to beat Leicester 3-1 in the final.
