British Railways 2-10-0 Standard Class 9F No 92001 is seen coupled up to British Railways built 4-6-0 Modified Hall No 7904 'Fountains Hall' at the head of a down express on 15th February 1964. Built by Crewe works in January 1954, No 92001 was the second member of the class built and was to remain in service until January 1967 when it was withdrawn from 56A Wakefield shed to be scrapped by Cox and Danks of Wadsley Bridge. The Modified Hall locomotive was designed by Hawkesworth and was built by Swindon works in April 1949, however as with all of the 1000 plus locomotives built under the auspices of British Railways its working life was short being withdrawn from service in December 1965 from 82E Bristol Barrow Road to be scrapped by J Cashmores of Newport.
